Susan Weir MDes is an internationally published, award winning interior + industrial designer who runs a multidisciplinary design practice. Her Masters in Design with a thesis on 'Blurrism: Decoration in the 21st Century' is from UTS and her Bachelor of Industrial Design AD is from Pratt Institute New York and the Royal Institute of Copenhagen. Susan is a lecturer, a Museum Leadership graduate and has a Certificate IV in design teaching. She has headed design teams as creative director with Steinegger Planning + Design New York who specialize in trendy restaurants and corporate headquarters for international banks. As principal of her eponymous design practice, SWP+D, Susan’s work includes high-end projects from a Manhattan Citicorp Tower bistro, to fashion showrooms on seventh Avenue to museum exhibitions around the world. Susan’s design approach is environmentally aware and she creates ecological furniture made from renewable organic materials. Karen is a New Yorker who is currently residing in Florida running a real estate and Home Staging agency. Karen also loves music, plays piano and is an aficionado of art and design. A passionate New Yorker of the Studio54 era, Karen has great stories from when she used to roll down Fifth Avenue donning skates and a sony walkman. She loves the Big Apple from Central Park to the Meatpacking District and enjoys showing international visitors her favorite city.
_ Scott is the team photographer and avid Harley motorcyclist. A world marathon runner, Scott calls New York the best city in the world and knows where to find all the cozy tucked away bars and happy hours around the east side. Scott takes superb action shots of our tour participants when they visit his home town.
_Janet, a native new yorker, is our team research assistant and a mid town New York City inhabitant. As a global traveler, Janet is great at finding hidden treasures in any country, and still puts New York on the top of her list. Her eye for detail and appreciation for hearty, savory edibles adds a healthful feature to our choices of venues.
